History museum presents lecture on 1912 flood

A lecture on the 1912 flood that inundated Augusta will be presented on Wednesday at the Augusta Museum of History, 560 Reynolds Street.

“Water, Water Everywhere, the Anniversary of the 1912 Flood” will be given by Carol Waggoner-Angleton, an Augusta State University Reese Library archivist. The devastation caused by the flood and initial efforts to control flooding will be part of the talk.

The lecture begins at 12:30 p.m., and is part of the Brown Bag History Series, a monthly educational lecture series. Cost is free for members and $3 for non-members. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch. The museum will provide beverages.
