Early voting underway in presidential primary


As of Friday afternoon, 401 people had voted in person and 682 had requested a ballot by mail during advance voting in the March 6 Presidential Preference Primary and Special Election, according to the Richmond County Board of Elections.

Several voting locations in Augusta will be open Saturday for advance voting including the Richmond County Board of Elections main office at the Municipal Building on 530 Greene St., the Henry Brigham Recreation Center at 2463 Golden Camp Road and the Warren Road Recreation Center at 300 Warren Road. The polls will open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

In person voters must provide one of the six acceptable forms of photo identification and do not have to provide a reason for voting.

Advance voting continues Monday through March 2 at the three locations from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
