Waynesboro reserve police officer dies in wreck

A civilian reserve police officer for the Waynesboro, Ga., Police Department was killed in a car accident Wednesday morning.

Raymond Bosher, 65, was driving on Drone Road when he turned left on Georgia Highway 24 into the path of an 18-wheeler logging truck. The accident occurred about 8 a.m., according to a news release from Waynesboro Police Chief Alfonzo Williams.

Bosher was a retired Springfield, S.C., police chief. He joined the Waynesboro police as a reserve officer in 2008 and worked as a gunsmith for the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
