Empty Stocking donations hit $100,000 for 7th straight year

People across the Augusta area have continued to prove generous when it comes to the annual Empty Stocking Fund of The Augusta Chronicle.

For the seventh consecutive year, donations topped the $100,000 mark, with $100,721.46 collected by Christmas Eve.

For 81 years The Chronicle has been glad to offer a way to help others in the true spirit of this season.

There is still time to offer your tax-deductible donations before the year ends. Contributions will also be accepted through the middle of January, although the deadline to submit an application for help has passed.
