A 2-year-old girl was run over by a car about 5 p.m. Sunday, but she is expected to live, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said.
Kaniya Robinson was on the driveway of her home in the 3000 block of Shady Lane in Hephzibah. When her uncle Kendall Killebrew, 19, started backing up a car, he didn’t see the girl but stopped as soon as the toddler’s grandmother, who was outside, indicated that little girl had been hit and was screaming, said sheriff’s Lt. Robbie Silas.
Killebrew managed to get Kaniya into the car and drive her to Medical College of Georgia Hospital. Silas said the child has broken bones and is seriously hurt, but she is stable and her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
