Two injured in accident and vehicle fire on Bath Edie Road

Two people were seriously injured in an accident on Bath Edie Road on Saturday night, according to Lt. Reginald Roberts with Richmond County 9-1-1.

The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on the 4200 block of Bath Edie Road off Deans Bridge Road – and only involved one car.

The two people were thrown from the vehicle as it rolled, Roberts said. One person was trapped underneath and the vehicle caught fire. The victims were transported to Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

Roberts said a witness was also transported to a hospital after a possible heart attack, triggered by his attempts to help free the person trapped underneath the vehicle.
