Two dump locations close due to high volume of storm debris

Two Richmond County temporary debris dump sites have been closed because of the amount of storm debris, according to a statement from Augusta’s environmental services office.

The Carrie Mays Park and Lake Olmstead dump sites are shut down, cutting the number of available dump sites in half for Richmond County residents.

Open sites for debris disposal remain at Eisenhower Park, on Eisenhower Drive, and the Augusta Landfill on Deans Bridge Road. Disposal of storm debris is free at both places.
