Riverwalk Augusta, boat ramps closed by flooding reopen

Several areas closed because of flooding have reopened.

The boat ramps and boating access point in Richmond County and Marina Road have been reopened.

The lower walking paths on Riverwalk Augusta will reopen Thursday morning. Access from 10th Street is still closed.

Officials said boaters should remain cautious because the river current is still strong and snags and trees just below the surface could cause problems.

Lock and Dam Park, access to the Baurle Boat Ramp, Mims Road and 10th Street access to the riverwalk and the boat ramp will remain closed.

Cleanup in all areas continues.
