Tropical Storm Andrea is expected to bring more rainfall and the potential for flooding today as it passes near the Augusta area.
The storm could drop 2 to 4 inches of rain across the area today before it moves north, said National Weather Service forecaster Mike Proud.
The rainfall should start to lighten by late morning and into the afternoon, Proud said.
Proud said flooding remains the top concern. Winds should remain at about 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph, he said.
“The worst of it is probably going to be on the southern side of the CSRA,” Proud said. “You’re probably going to get more rain and more wind as you go from Augusta to Charleston along the coast.”
A flood watch remains in effect for the area through 8 p.m. today.
