Burke County tornado confirmed

The National Weather Service has determined that an EF1 tornado struck part of Burke County causing damage Monday night.

Meteorologist Steve Naglic said a combination of a tornado and downburst, with winds up to 97 mph, damaged several farms 12 miles southwest of Waynesboro near Rosier Road. A dairy farm lost several buildings and cows.
