Unseasonably warm temperatures Thursday proved irresistible to many people who ventured outdoors to enjoy the sunshine.
Maritess Banez and Kathleen Kelley discussed the beautiful weather on their way to the Greeneway in North Augusta.
“We were just talking about our summer and spring dresses,” Banez said.
Kelley, a Brunswick, Ga., native, said the warmer temperatures caught her off guard.
On Thursday, they wore shorts and T-shirts as temperatures reached the low 70s.
Ansley Bennett took advantage of the weather to ride her bicycle on the Greeneway.
The Augusta resident said colder temperatures force her to exercise in the gym or at home, so she’s happy when the weather allows her to get outside.
At Warren Road Community Center, Felicia Hyrams watched her nephew Veah Holmes, 2, play on the playground. Amirah Oliver and her sons Jailen, 3, and Rajon, 1, joined her.
Hyrams and Oliver said though they enjoyed the warm weather, they were concerned that the change in temperature could be unhealthy.
“I think it’s going to get people sick, because it was cold last week and this week it’s 70 degrees,” Oliver said. “But I’m not surprised. This is Georgia.”
