Grantham re-elected to DOT board

ATLANTA – Augusta businessman and former Augusta commissioner Don Grantham won re-election Wednesday to a new, five-year term on the State Transportation Board.

The 14-member board oversees highway, rail and airport planning and construction statewide, and Grantham is its current vice chairman.

He was the only candidate when legislators from the 12th congressional district met to vote. His re-election was so anticipated that nearly half of the district’s legislators missed the meeting, and there were too few in attendance to make up a quorum until one straggler walked in late.
