Fake Facebook post depicts Anderson in obscene manner

A fake Facebook post was created this weekend that depicted a candidate in the 12th District runoff race in an obscene manner.

Lee Anderson called the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday to report that someone had created a false Facebook account under his name, according to an incident report.

Anderson said a picture was posted on the page of his face on the body of another man who was engaged in sexual activity. The picture also was posted on Anderson’s campaign Web site and e-mailed to many people on his contact list, according to the report.

The picture has been deleted from Facebook and Anderson’s campaign Web site.

Both Facebook and the creators of Anderson’s Web site were alerted to the incident, the report stated.

Anderson will face either Rick Allen or Wright McLeod in a runoff race Aug. 21.
