Paine College partners with SRS contractor for software

Savannah River Remediation and Paine College are developing a software program to collect and share information from liquid waste operations at Savannah River Site with other U.S. Department of Energy sites.

SRR, a contractor at Savannah River Site, recently awarded Paine College a procurement package totaling $43,000 to develop the software program that will help SRR and subcontractors at other sites document issues encountered on similar tasks and how they have handled them.

The award is SRR’s first Historically Black College and Universities & Minority Institutions procurement package under an initiative established as one of its small business goals.

SRR is the Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy. SRR is composed of a team of companies led by URS Corp. with partners Bechtel National, CH2M Hill and Babcock & Wilcox. Critical subcontractors for the contract are AREVA, Energy Solutions and URS Professional Solutions.
