Richmond County school Superintendent Frank Roberson met with his physicians and school officials Friday to discuss his pending work status, according to a statement from the school system.
Roberson has been absent since February 2011, when he underwent emergency surgery for a brain condition. He returned to work part time in December but works no more than six hours per week.
On April 17, school board President Alex Howard said members would meet to discuss Roberson’s status before Friday, but a meeting was never called.
The board plans to meet next week to discuss the matter in more detail, according to the statement.
