Three Jefferson County people were arrested recently involving a shooting and robbery in Wadley on Aug. 11.
Keondra Knight of Wadley, 29, is charged with one count of aggravated assault; Denzel Jackson, 23, also of Wadley and Dontavious Kitchens, 21, of Louisville are each charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of armed robbery, according to investigator Robert Chalker with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Chalker, Kent Bell, 39, of Louisville, was lured to a location by Knight and ambushed by Jackson and Kitchens and was shot once in the thigh and robbed. Bell drove himself to Jefferson Hospital in Louisville where he was treated and subsequently transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Chalker said information leading to the arrests was sent to “Crime Reports and Rewards”, a crime tip line. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the sheriff’s office made the arrests. The investigation is continuing and Chalker says more arrests may be coming.
