A South Carolina woman was arrested Tuesday after returning stolen items from Wal-Mart in an attempt to receive store credit on a gift card.
Approximately 12:35 p.m., deputies responded to the Wal-Mart on Wrightsboro Road, where Danniell Lashall Kelly, 26, admitted to stealing two bottles of perfume, according to an incident report from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Kelly, of Columbia, S.C., was issued a $26.22 gift-card refund by customer service before being apprehended as she attempted to leave the store.
Once inside the store’s security office, deputies found two pairs of pants in a shopping bag that she also admitted to stealing. Two bags of fried chicken were found in her handbag, but Kelly stated she purchased those items, although she could not produce a receipt, the report said.
