2 more arrested in Agerton Lane drive-by shooting that wounded 14-year-old

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a late Saturday shooting on Agerton Lane that wounded a 14-year-old boy.

Alexis Marie Blowers, 23, of Augusta, and Emmanual Jarnell Smith, 21, of Grovetown, were arrested Monday and have been charged with felony counts of aggravated assault, according to Richmond County jail records.

Their arrests follow the capture of Brandon DeShawn Hilton, 17, of Augusta, who was booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center Sunday on charges of aggravated assault, reckless conduct, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and criminal damage to property in the first and second degree.

About 10:15 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to the shopping center near Regal Cinemas on Agerton Lane, where five shots were fired in an apparent drive-by shooting, Lt. Lewis Blanchard said.

Windows on a vacant storefront and at Jimmy John’s were struck by two bullets.

A third bullet struck Tyrese Deondre Hammond, of Hephzibah, in the upper chest. He was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center for injuries that weren’t life-threatening and is in stable condition, police said Monday.

A supplemental report taken late Sunday shows a rental car parked nearby was also damaged in the shooting. The 2014 Dodge Charger suffered damage to a front quarter panel, the driver’s door frame and trunk. A bullet retrieved from the car’s rear end was taken as evidence, the report said.
