Deputies say an Augusta convenience store was burglarized early Friday, losing 33 cartons of cigarettes and 21 packs of contact lenses.
About 4:25 a.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies responded to a tripped alarm at C-Mart at 3403 Mike Padgett Highway. The front entrance was found shattered by a large rock, a police report says.
Aside from nearly $1,500 worth of cigarettes and about $630 worth of contact lenses, a bank bag containing $500 was also missing, according to the report. Deputies found the case for the contact lenses on a path behind the business.
