Richmond County police identify second vehicle in fatal April 12 hit-and-run

Deputies are seeking a second vehicle which may have been involved in an April 12 hit-and-run that killed one teen and injured another.

According to a statement from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the second vehicle is described as a dark in color Chevrolet Impala driven by a man who goes by the name Black. The exact color and year of the vehicle is unknown at this time.

Police are offering a cash reward for information leading to its location.

About 11:39 p.m. on April 12, Zykeith Harris, 14, and a second teen, who has not been identified, were struck while attempting to cross the eastbound lanes in the 1400 block of Gordon Highway. Zykeith, who was also struck by two additional vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene by Chief Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose.

The second victim was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition, Sgt. Shane McDaniel said Tuesday.
