Graniteville school was locked down as authorities seek possible bank robber

Leavelle McCampbell Middle School in Graniteville was on lockdown Monday as authorities search for an area bank robber.

Aiken County sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said investigators were sent to Security Federal Bank, 50 Canal St.,  to gather information about the incident reported sometime around 10:10 a.m.

Nearby Leavelle McCampbell Middle School was on lockdown as a precaution, Abdullah said.

Police said they were searching for four suspects who left the scene in a older model tan sedan, possibly a Cadillac.

Three of the men are believed to be black males. Police said the men were dressed in all black, masks and had “large guns.”
