Three of the five people injured Sunday in a shooting at a Burke County party remain hospitalized.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agent in charge Pat Morgan said Monday afternoon that the investigation continues and that it appears there was more than one shooter.
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office asked for the assistance of the GBI after it responded to the shooting at a repurposed automobile shop at 4960 Highway 80 W about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. A sheriff’s office official told a reporter Sunday that 150 to 200 people were at the party.
According to a GBI news release, three of the victims – Darius Smith, 21; Rokeisha Graham, 17; and Bromekis Donnie, 18 – were taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center for treatment. Morgan said he did not know their medical conditions.
Shequan Hines, 19, was treated at Burke Medical Center but was soon released.
Later Sunday, a fifth victim, 17-year-old Brandon Harold, was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center by family members. He has also been released.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 554-2133 or the GBI at (706) 595-2575.
