Police say they arrested two men Thursday in a multi-agency drug bust in New Ellenton, S.C., after a lengthy investigation that remains open.
Waydee Ameen Clifton, 35, of Williston, S.C., and Quincy Bernard Brigham, 38, of Augusta, are each charged with one count of trafficking cocaine, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. Clifton is also charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by persons unlawful.
Aiken County sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Feemster said the arrests are the result of an investigation of narcotics that have been trafficked and sold in Aiken County and in surrounding counties and states.
Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Aiken Department of Public Safety executed search warrants Thursday at 511 Long St. in New Ellenton and 1374 Weeks Road in Williston. Also involved in the bust were agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and its local task force.
During the investigation, police have seized large amounts of money, cocaine, marijuana and stolen firearms.
