The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has identified three suspects in a Feb. 7 assault and armed robbery that hospitalized an Augusta man.
Kevin Maurice Hanna, 23, of Hephzibah, was arrested Tuesday on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
Police have obtained warrants for Marquese Demario Parrish, 22, of Augusta, and Darrell Fitzgerald Hill Jr., 23, of Augusta, on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Parrish also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
About 6:50 p.m. Feb. 7, Richmond County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Richmond Villas Apartments on Windsor Spring Road in reference to an assault, according to an incident report.
The victim, Tyrell McKie, told police that he asked a man named Keet for a ride home, but as he entered the car, three unknown males approached him and told him to “give it up.”
The suspects took all of McKie’s money and one shot McKie, though the report doesn’t say where. They then left the scene in a black Nissan with a paper tag.
Deputies later found a .45-caliber shell at the scene. McKie was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center to receive treatment for his injuries.
Parrish and Hill are considered armed and dangerous, the report said. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1020 or Richmond County dispatch at (706) 821-1080.
