A 24-year old woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend last week was arrested Tuesday.
Elizabeth A. Staten has been charged with aggravated assault and battery in connection with the Jan. 4 incident, according to Richmond County Jail records. Staten, who is being held without bond, faces two additional charges of financial transaction card fraud in an unrelated incident.
About 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 4, Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 2700 block of Gardenbrook Court in reference to an injured person.
They found Robert McBridge suffering from stab wounds to his chest, arm and back. Deputies were told that Staten and McBride had been arguing with each other when Staten brandished a knife and stabbed McBride several times.
McBride was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center to receive treatment for his wounds. Staten fled before deputies arrived.
