Fleeing bank robbers drop money

Two men robbed a Hephzibah bank Monday afternoon, dropping money as they made their getaway.

About 3 p.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Southern Bank at 2455 Georgia Highway 88, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

They were told that two black men wearing masks had entered the bank and demanded cash.

They were last seen leaving the bank on foot, the statement said.

More deputies were called to the scene after someone noticed people picking up money the bandits had dropped along the road near the bank.
