Two teens arrested in Aiken burglary


The North Augusta Department of Public Safety arrested two teens Friday in connection with a burglary that happened earlier in the week.

Jamal Richardson, 17, of Aiken, and a 16-year-old boy, whose name was withheld by police, both face charges of burglary in the second degree and grand larceny in a break-in at a home on Whitemarsh Drive on Tuesday, according to a news release.

Richardson, who was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Aiken Estates neighborhood, is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center. The 16-year-old is being held at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
