Suspect identified in robbery of Augusta Metro Federal Credit Union

Police are looking for a man who held up a local credit union at gunpoint Friday, leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

 

Brendan Allen Gray Jr., 24, is wanted for armed robbery and possesssion of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection with the incident at Augusta Metro Federal Credit Union, according to a statement from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

About 4:04 p.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Augusta Metro Federal Credit Union at 4306 Mike Padgett Highway, where Gray entered the building, brandished a handgun and demanded cash, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

After collecting money, he fled the scene in a blue Dodge pickup truck. He was last seen heading south on Mike Padgett Highway.

Police say that Gray is currently on bond for a previous armed robbery at the GNC nutrition store on Bobby Jones Expressway in January.

Gray is known to drive a gray 2007 Ford Mustang, and has ties in Tennessee and the Warner Robbins area.
