Man found stabbed in Beech Island

A 35-year-old man is recovering from stab wounds after he was discovered by a firefighter at Fairview and Parker drives in Beech Island.

According to a news release, a Midland Valley firefighter and first responder found Leroy Laird about 9 p.m. Thursday.

Laird told deputies that a man who was asking for money stabbed him in the shoulder and ran into the woods.

The victim was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center.

The assailant is described as white, bald and wearing blue jeans.
