Augusta man was choked unconscious, robbed in alley

An Augusta man contacted police after he said he was choked unconscious and robbed while walking home from work Thursday morning.

According to an incident report, Erik Starlings, 27, of Third Street, was walking through the alley to his apartment after leaving his downtown job when an unknown person grabbed him by the throat and choked him unconscious around 3 a.m.

When he regained consciousness later, he learned he had been robbed of his cell phone and wallet.
