3 arrested in Club Pure Platinum shooting

Police say a shooting at a local nightclub left one person injured early Sunday.


About 2:10 a.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Club Pure Platinum at 2064 Gordon Highway after a report of a large crowd in the parking lot with possible shots fired, a sheriff’s office news release said.

When deputies arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the wrist. The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center.

Police learned that several people started shooting randomly, the release said.

Rommie Cody Williams, 26; Steven Lawrence Williams, 28; and Yusuf Khalid Thompson, 26; have been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Rommie Williams and Thompson have also been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
