2 face drug charges after Augusta motel bust

An Augusta couple faces drug charges after they were discovered manufacturing methamphetamine in a Gordon Highway motel, police said.

A tip led investigators to the room of Rodney Jamal Campell and Syndie Michelle Yilmaz at Super 8, 2137 Gordon Highway, about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Campbell, 32, and Yilmaz, 27, were in the room when officers arrived, along with marijuana, ingredients and tools used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, 1.4 gram of finished methamphetamine and six oxycodone pills, police said.

The couple were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of oxycodone and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Campbell was also wanted on several felony warrants. He was charged with methamphetamine manufacturing and possession charges in 2012.
