A woman says her 7-week-old Yorkshire Terrier was stolen at an Augusta restaurant Saturday afternoon.
Jennifer Hadden, of Boneville, said she agreed to meet Shatina Powell, of Hephzibah, around 3:15 p.m. at a Waffle House to sell the puppy, an Richmond County sheriff’s report said.
While Hadden was in the parking lot, an unknown woman left the restaurant, complimented the puppy and asked whether she could hold it. When Hadden handed the dog over, the woman ran toward Marks Church Commons Apartments, the report said.
Powell, who was seen entering the restaurant after the woman left, told authorities that she didn’t know the thief.
The suspect was described as a black woman around 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black tank top and blue jeans.
