3 charged in break-in at Westside

Two teenagers and a 21-year-old have been charged with burglary in a break-in at Westside High School on Monday night.

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were called to the school, at 1002 Patriots Way, just before 11 p.m. for a burglary alarm. Inside the school they found Jalen Thomas Randolph, 17, Gerald Bernard Boyd, 21, and a 15-year-old who were all trying to hide, according to an incident report. Boyd and Randolph live at apartments at 3085 Parrish Road.

Deputies were unable to find any signs of forced entry but think the suspects entered the school through an unsecured construction area, according to the report.

Deputies searched the suspects’ pockets and found a bottle of Listerine, two Navy necklace key chains and latex gloves. A school representative told deputies the items were high school property.
