April 16 gunshot victim still in critical condition

A man wounded in an April 16 shooting that killed his mother and wounded his sister remains in critical condition.

Mario Crumbley, 33, is at Georgia Regents Medical Center. Police said Thursday his condition remains critical, but stable.

Crumbley; his mother, Linda Crumbley, 57; and sister, Dekrizia Crumbley, 27, were shot outside their home in the 3500 block of Biltmore Place.

Linda Crumbley died upon arrival at the hospital. Dekrizia Crumbley was treated and released.

Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Calvin Chew said the shooting stemmed from an argument between Dekrizia Crumbley and the suspect, Steve Allen, 52, of Blythe, over the ownership of her car.

Allen fled the scene and was arrested several hours later in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Vidalia, Ga., about 100 miles from Augusta.

Allen faces charges of murder, two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
