2 arrested after Augusta meth lab found


A methamphetamine lab was discovered on Ponderosa Drive and two people were arrested, according to a news release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Secret Service arrived in the 2400 block of Ponderosa to execute a search warrant when they discovered illegal drug activity. Two people, identified as James Barrow, 30, and Dana Bryant, 19, were taken into custody. A 3-year-old child and an 88-year-old woman were also in the house.

The two suspects in custody are charged with the manufacturing of meth, manufacturing of meth with a child present, and trafficking.
