Georgia man connected to five Augusta robberies

Richmond County sheriff’s authorities said a Riverdale, Ga., man has been connected to a least five robberies in the Augusta area since December.

Khatrell Rashon Harris, 21, was arrested early Thursday at the residence on Fayetteville Drive. Trevin Dante Nixon, 20, who lived at the residence, was also booked on armed robbery charges.

Lt. Calvin Chew said investigators had been searching for Harris since February.

In a Friday news release, police said Harris has been connected to a robbery by force of an individual on Dec. 22, and armed robberies at BP Polo Gas Station at 2061 Gordon Highway on Feb. 7, Time Saver at 3333 Mike Padgett Highway on Feb. 13 and PJ’s Grocery Store, 3184 Skinner Mill Road on March 1.

In Columbia County, Harris faces charges in connection to an armed robbery of Fuel Express on Jimmy Dyess Parkway.

Police said Nixon was an accomplice in the armed robberies at Time Saver and PJ’s Grocery Store.

In Richmond County, Harris has been charged with robbery by force, aggravated battery, three counts of armed robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

In Columbia County, he faces charges of armed robbery, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of a handgun during the commission of a crime.

Nixon has been charged with two counts of armed robbery.
