Appliances stolen from Augusta Housing Authority

Richmond County authorities are investigating the theft of several appliances from an Augusta-Richmond County Housing Authority property in the Barton Village neighborhood, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.

A neighbor called police about 4 p.m. Monday to report a suspicious vehicle parked at the authority’s maintenance building at 3619 London Blvd. The neighbor told police she saw two people load the appliances on a trailer attached to a black Ford Expedition and drive away, according to the report.

Robert Holmes, with the Housing Authority, told deputies that three stoves and three refrigerators had been stolen from the property.
