Suspect sought in Augusta shooting

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were searching Thursday for Ceon Tarrel Ulmer following a shooting Wednesday on Mike Padgett Highway.

Authorities ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts contact the Sheriff’s Office at (706) 821-1020 or (706) 821-1080. Callers may remain anonymous.

According to authorities, deputies responding to a call about 9 p.m. in the 3500 block of Mike Padgett Highway found Xavier Lamar Robinson shot once. He was taken to a hospital, but his condition was not made public.

Investigators began looking for Ulmer, who faces charges of aggravated assault, posession of a firearm during commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Ulmer, 25, goes by the nickname “Black.” He is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He is known to frequent the 1700 block of Jenkins Street in Augusta, police said.
