Attacking a Richmond County sheriff’s deputy earned an Augusta man another six years in prison Friday.
Robert W. Richardson, 32, has spent much of the past decade in prison for crimes including the sale of cocaine, burglary and theft. On Friday in Richmond County Superior Court, Richardson added felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer to his convictions. He received the maximum sentence for obstruction and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Richardson assaulted Richmond County sheriff’s Cpl. Michael Humphreys during a traffic stop May 11 on Barton Chapel Road. Humphreys suffered a concussion from the attack.
