17-year-old shot in neighborhood off Tobacco Road

Richmond County authorities arrested a 15-year-old girl in connection with a shooting Friday afternoon in a neighborhood off Tobacco Road.

Police said Amir F. Clark, 17, was wounded twice in the left arm at his home in the 2800 block of Pheasant Drive.

Witnesses told police they heard gunfire coming from Clark’s residence about 3:20 p.m. and called 911 when Clark escaped through a front window and fled to a neighbor’s driveway.

Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Vinson said officers immediately launched a search for the suspect, known by the nickname “Worm.” She was armed with a .38-caliber revolver, according to a sheriff’s report.

Vinson said she was taken into custody late Friday and because she was charged a juvenile, her name could not be released.

Clark was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Vinson said. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, he said.
