An argument about a child’s balloon turned into a fist-fight between cousins Sunday afternoon, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s report.
A little before 4:30 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 2400 block of Sumac Drive in reference to an assault. When he got there, a 20-year-old woman said she had gotten in a fight with her cousin over a child’s balloon that had started as pushing and punching, but escalated when her cousin threw her to the ground and pulled her hair.
The officer saw a gash on her lower leg, but she said she did not want to press charges. Her cousin had fled.
