Solo Cup Co. employee arrested in connection with metal theft

A man is in jail in connection with the theft of $22,000 in bronze brackets from the Solo cup plant, authorities said.

Richmond County sheriff’s investigators arrested a Solo Cup Co. employee, Kenneth Dale Morris, 49, Friday in connection with the theft. He is charged with two counts of theft by taking for his role in the theft, which spanned several days, Investigator Kendall Brown said an e-mail.

The items were found at CMC Recycling Center on Old Savannah Road and Campbell’s Recycling Center at 250 Dan Bowles Road. The investigation is ongoing, Brown said.
