Aiken police seeking credit union robber

Aiken police are searching for a man who robbed the South Carolina State Credit Union on Tuesday.

According to a news release from the Aiken Department of Public Safety, a black man who covered his face with a gray T-shirt entered the credit union at 210 Beauford St. through a back door shortly after noon and demanded money. He was seen fleeing the credit union with cash in what appeared to be a red or burgundy 1980s to early ’90s model Ford Tempo.

He is described as in his 30s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing 200-250 pounds. He was wearing a red, long-sleeve shirt, light-colored pants, white sneakers and a black toboggan hat.
