Trenton, S.C., man arrested in fatal Bath shooting

A Trenton, S.C., man is charged with murder in the shooting of a Bath man Saturday night.

David Eugene Rosier Jr., 45, was arrested in the shooting death of Donnie James Davis, 20, of Dixie Clay Road, according to a news release from Aiken County sheriff’s Capt. Troy Elwell.

Rosier’s son Joshua Allen Rosier was also originally charged with murder, but the charge was dropped after authorities determined that his father was responsible, Elwell said. The younger Rosier, 21, is charged with assault and battery stemming from a fight that occurred before the shooting.

Police were called about 10:30 p.m. Saturday to the first block of Church Street in Bath, where they found Davis with a gunshot wound to the face.
