Drug take back being held Saturday

An event aimed at collecting all unused and potentially dangerous medications is scheduled for Saturday.

During Take Back Day, people across the nation are asked to collect drugs not being used and dispose of them at one of the participating locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The events are aimed at stopping prescription drug abuse.

The service is free and anonymous.

It is the fifth take-back day, which is organized by the Drug Enforcement Agency. People participating in the four previous events over the last two years turned in 1.6 million pounds of prescription drugs nationwide.
