Woman accuses neighbor of stealing water

An Augusta woman called police Tuesday afternoon to accuse her neighbor of filling up buckets of water from her hose, causing her water bill to more than double, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s report.

Deborah Samuels, 59, told deputies she had seen her neighbor in the 1400 block of Essie McIntyre Boulevard fill a bucket of water from her hose.

The report said Samuels told deputies she believes her neighbor had been doing this for the last two or three months because her water bill has spiked from $30 to $70 a month.
