Teen shot outside Kroc Center on Tuesday

Police are searching for a shooting suspect after a teen was wounded near the Kroc Center on Tuesday evening.

Richmond County sheriff’s investigators said the incident occurred when a 17-year-old from Clarks Hill, S.C., and a 17-year-old from Evans met a 17-year-old from Hephzibah at the parking lot of the Kroc Center around 8:50 p.m. Investigators said the Hephzibah teen, later identified as Lavon Freeman, pulled a gun and robbed the others.

After the robbery, the South Carolina victim chased the gunman on foot. Police said Freeman fired the gun, striking the teen in the buttocks.

Investigators are searching for Freeman on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.
