A Richmond County grand jury has indicted Michael Jerod Everidge on murder charges in the November beating at the Augusta Youth Development Campus that left Jade Holder dead.
The indictment says Everidge caused 19-year-old Holder’s death by “punching and kicking (him) about the face and head.”
It accuses Everidge of committing malice murder and felony murder because the death was the result of felony aggravated assault.
Also this week, two counts of felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor failure to yield right of way were returned against Janet Salter.
The indictment alleges that Salter caused a wreck Sept. 17 at Storey Mill Road and Quail Run Drive that seriously injured two people.
One victim suffered a post-traumatic brain injury, broken knee cap, severe abrasions and permanent nerve damage to her right hand, according to the indictment. The other victim sustained a head injury, a broken foot and contusions and abrasions, the indictment says.
An indictment in another case accuses Candace Diallo of lying on the witness stand, then leading police on a pursuit when they tried to arrest her on a perjury warrant.
The indictment says Diallo made the false statement to Superior Court Judge Wade Padgett during a domestic hearing that she had received an abortion, when she was never pregnant.
It’s also alleged that she falsely testified about her current place of employment, current address and her child’s school during the same hearing Oct. 24.
On Nov. 16, a Richmond County deputy tried to pull her over, but she refused to obey the lights and sirens, the indictment says.
The indictment charges her with perjury and fleeing and attempting to elude.
