Indictments in crimes against children

Crimes against children in 2011 were the focus of several indictments returned this week.

Michael Dillard Birchfield was indicted on 30 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. The charges allege that Birchfield possessed child pornography on Aug. 11, 2011.

Laquaine Darryle Chapman is accused of two counts of aggravated child molestation and child molestation for acts reportedly committed on a child under the age of 16 sometime in the month of October.

Shontell Yvette Guyden is charged with cruelty to children in the first degree for allowing a child under the age of 18 to live on the street in May and “provide for himself as best he could,” the indictment alleges. The indictment adds that Guyden was receiving child support payments at the time.

Andrew Green is charged with sexual battery because an indictment says he “intentionally” made contact with the buttocks of a child under the age of 16 in January 2011.
